Here is the second installment of my blogging catch-up session. In June Scott had a week off, so we got to do some fun things around here and a couple of short trips with family in Texas.
Our friends gave us a kiddie pool when they moved and despite its small size it has provided hours of entertainment for the girls and their friends.
I like this picture of Kate in flight.
This year was Kate's first foray into organized sports. She signed up for T ball with a few friends from church. She was the only girl on the team but held her own pretty well, although she was less than motivated to go for the ball when fielding. Overall Kate had a good experience and gained some basic baseball skills.

During Scott's time off we took a day trip to Austin and checked out Zilker Park. The highlight for Janie was the train ride, although you wouldn't know it from this picture.
On our way out of Austin we had an excellent meal at Rudy's BBQ. We surprised the girls when snapping this picture. Jane looks especially guilty of some mischievous deed.
Then they started hamming it up for the camera.
Another fun thing we did in June was a day trip to Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunfels. We met up with all of my siblings there and had a great day. This group picture was taken at the end when we were all looking a little ragged.
We went to Houston for a weekend to see the Thurbers and Scott's brother's family. Grandma got this slip n slide for the girls, and Jane was happiest parked at the end where she could drink out of the maximum number of water spurts.
Kate used the slip n slide for its intended purpose.
Kate loves to help me in the kitchen, especially when it involves cookie dough she can eat at the end.
Scott got an iPhone which is now his prized possession. Kate took this picture, evidence of Scott's brainwashing tactics. Soon Janie will be asking for her own iPhone.
On the 4th of July we went to a pancake breakfast at the church and afterwards the kids got to ride their decorated bikes in a little parade.
Don't be fooled by this picture - Jane didn't actually ride this trike herself. I was bent over pushing her the whole time. Gave me a sweet backache but it was nice to see her happy.

These posts just get better and better! What cute pictures of the girls! My favorites are the ones of the girls on their bikes - cute!
Backaches are the motivation to get them on the bicyle. God made us that way. You are really finding a lot of activities for the kids to do, good job.
Hahahaha Jane pulls the funniest faces! I laugh for days after reading these posts when her little face pops into my head.
Kate- I pretty much ONLY love being in the kitchen when there is cookie dough at the end, so I know how you feel.
