Fall Hodgepodge

Here are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Today was Page's baby shower at a cute boutique/restaurant called Dear Lizzie's, and it was so fun to see my friends that live in Provo! Plus Page makes a super cute pregnant gal. We can't wait to meet Baby Carson.

We had our annual Swendsen family pumpkin carving contest last Sunday. I don't think I'm winning any prizes with my stenciled ghost, but I'll be okay.

Scott did this maple leaf freehand and it turned out great.

Kate and Reese wore their costumes to the pumpkin carving extravaganza. Reese made such a cute strawberry - we loved the hat in particular.

So Kate and I went to Gardner Village for a playgroup this week and we loved it so much that we went back today with Scott. It is this old historical "village" in West Jordan that's done up really cute and they go all-out for fall, complete with many life-size witch displays. Lots of people come in costume, as did Kate.
Here she is on the lap of one of the witches.

Nothing like a little Halloween bathroom humor. ("Where is that awful smell coming from...?")

Grandma bought Kate this adorable winter coat which she recently debuted.

A hat that Rick Otto left for Kate after his med school interview last week. She actually plays with it a lot - thanks, Rick!

Jennifer, thanks for the great pictures, Kate is getting cuter (big surprise there). We have been laughing all week at her bee costume. Somehow it fits her perfectly, not sure why.

Still trying to figure out who is actually "in" the "out"-house. Is it someone we know?

That is a great picture of you, Page and Brittany. Reminds me of how fortunate you were to have such roommates. It is a rare occurrence to get two friends like that out of the same apartment, and a tribute to you for having such good taste.

I loved this post! It seems like Kate looks cute any way you cut it.
The "bee" costume is right in line
with the "Bee" movie this year. Way to go, guys!

I agree with Dad about your great
roommates - how nice for you.

Jen, the pictures of Kate are so darling - I love her bee costume. Tell Scott I cursed him out all night making that bun in the oven costume - because my big belly kept getting in the way of gluing on the paper, cutting out the parts, etc and the next day my back really hurt, but it was all worth it because everyone loved the costume. I gave Scott and you all the credit for the cleverness, of course.

By the way, I think that is hysterical that you read Mrs. Dub's blog. I read it as well - Mrs. Dub and I were roommates for about three weeks and she is the best! So now you can say she is a friend of a friend, and not just a stranger - if that gets Scott to stop teasing you about lurking on someone else's blog. Or is it just Clarke that gives me a hard time for doing that?

I totally know what place you're talking about in W. Jordan. I've been there during the fall and it is AMAZING! I love all the decor and all the cute shops too. Oh how I miss REAL fall weather.

That coat is so cute! And the costume too of course!

It sure was fun to see you Saturday! I like hearing in real time how things are instead of just knowing you through your blog! I like knowing your through your blog though too. :)

Dad - that's one of the life-size witches in the outhouse. But it would be more exciting if it was someone we knew.

Anna - thanks for giving me another connection to Mrs. Dub. I now know three of her friends but have never met her. Maybe someday. And yes, Scott does tease me occasionally for my blog lurking. :)
