So today I made the game-time decision to ditch my snowboarding class on account of a nasty cough, and instead spent my afternoon at Urgent Care at the BYU Health Center. My condition definitely wasn't urgent, and I found that no one who works there was, either. The fruits of my 3+ hour time commitment amounted to little more than the counsel to "drink lots of water."
Anyway, I was pretty bummed at having to miss my snowboarding class throughout most of the day today, then tonight a girl from my class came over and said there had been an avalanche at Sundance, and everyone had to just stay on the bus for about thirty minutes and then go home. I didn't even know avalanches were real! Anyway, it was a silent victory for me having made the right decision not to go, and I stopped stressing that I would be a week's worth of practice behind my snowboarding buddies come class time next week.
