Everyone stayed at our place for a day before taking off. Kate basked in all of the attention from her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Camille was Kate's artist of choice, and kindly agreed to Kate's demands for pictures.
"Helping" set up the futon.
To our amusement, Austin decided to sleep outside when everyone stayed with us. It apparently had something to do with the snoring of certain unnamed persons, but that didn't stop us from laughing when the sprinklers came on and soaked his pillow.
Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of the cabin at Bear Lake, but here we are on the boat.
Camille was the first rebel to remove her life jacket.
We all took turns learning to wakeboard and/or ski, but the only picture we have from our camera is of Scott, who obviously wasn't in the learning stage.
Lunchtime.
Camille and me, doing some synchronized tanning.
Kate was a little champ on the boat, occasionally succumbing to exhaustion from all of her missed naps.
Christine took Kate on a tube ride. I love how uncomfortable Kate looks in this picture.
That concludes the Bear Lake portion of the post. Camille, we need you to post pictures and especially videos since most of those were on your camera. Now for some miscellaneous Kate pics:
Nerd Kate.
Post-bath euphoria. Too bad this one turned out fuzzy - we probably need to upgrade our camera.
The complex lotion ritual.
Our friends came over last night for games, etc, and brought Kate's little friend Logan.
What color would you say her eyes are? We still don't know. Maybe "murky"?

Wow - we've really got some great posts coming in - thanks, Jennifer!
I really enjoyed the Bear Lake vacation as well - I love Kate's
cute little smile! Love, Mom
I agree with Jen that it was probably one of the best Thurber family vacations that I've had the pleasure of going on. I really enjoyed seeing so much of everyone and hanging out in the cabin in the evenings. Thanks Mark and Marleen for such a fun vacation.
PS I know I took the picture but I love the one of Austin sleeping with the sprinklers.
I loved this vacation too, it seemed so well organized (mostly by Mom) and nothing bad happened. I was nervous the whole time on the boat, but we all got off the water just fine. I am sure there will be a unique punishment somewhere for all you rebels who took off your life jackets. Maybe your own special section in the conference center where everyone can look at you.
Jen, that sounds like a great family vacation. Lake vacations are among my favorite kind as well. Scott must be relieved to have the first set of boards finished, I'm glad to hear he survived them. I love the picture of Kate right after her bath. She is so cute and getting to be such a big girl! Thanks for the fun pictures.
(This is Jen Low by the way...there are so many Jen's out there!)
