Just a Mirror for the Sun

So precisely 26 days after locking myself in with land, the withdrawals combined with the island surf reports from the lingerers and collectively became far too much to bear. So I took three sweet friends of mine to go visit Poseidon via the quickest route down I-15. Here is a photo documentary.

The big fella back at the LA temple for the first time since the mish

She's still close to my heart, cheesy smile and all.

Second time back to Vegas. This is the gardens at the Bellagio, totally re-done since I was last here in March. Waaaay chill. Alex, Holly, Jean, me.

They also changed this, and for the better. Maybe they do that often? I know some of you frequent Vegas more than I do.

More chins than winnings

Midnight cheesecake at the Grand Lux in the Venetian. It may not look like much, but Jack Handy once said, "When you die, if they give you the choice between real heaven and pie heaven, choose pie heaven. It might be a trick, but if not, mmmm boy!"

Who knew Marilyn and Elvis kicked it?

Surf lessons that didn't necessarily take. Jean is from Colorado and had never been in the ocean! Never! I didn't know that was real! Needless to say after a few attempts she bade me paddle and I got a good five-hour sesh with a sunburn to prove it. It was a small-to-medium day, with the occasional waist-high set that provided a real fun drop down the face. I improved my first turns quite a bit

Oh... my... gosh TWINNERS!!! We didn't plan it I swear! (blush blush). Kickin it on a foggy morning in Beverly Hills.

The biggest attraction for Baker, CA. Seriously, the world's tallest thermometer was on billboards for miles before we were formally introduced.

Alright yall. Don't forget to check out Jen and Scott's below; it's a winner.

I can't imagine how you paid for this trip with those gas prices -- wait, did I pay for this trip?

Looks like you had a great time and it's great that you got to surf some more.

So which is the real Las Vegas?

It looks like you had fun in the very short time you had on this trip - What sites did you see in L.A. besides the thermometer?

Love, Mom
