PHSEEEUUUUUUW and KABOOOOOOM!

Documentation that I was a father this year.

Jen escaping from the sun in a "Huey," the workhorse helicopter of the Vietnamese war.

Kate climbs up one of the biggest inflatable slides I've seen.

I have no idea who this guy is, but I think he's trying to pose for my picture. Just moments before, a doofus nearly got tackled by the ground crew for trying to put his hand inside the tail jet engine of this F18 just minutes after it landed.

Pretty sweet looking plane even though the look hasn't been updated since the mid 80's.

My Dad thought seriously about buying one of these "Willie" jeeps for a time.

Our fireworkds set-up. Pretty funny conversations are had while wiring fireworks. Everybody was nice enough, but I didn't exactly fit in because I don't have my concealed weapons permit, but I do have a functioning liver and a full set of teeth. Each tube had its own individual wiring and button to fire it. Total cost of fireworks at wholesale price was about $6000.

For those of you who saw the little show Dan and I put on at Dan and Heather's, the "big" fireworks we used were 1.5 inches in diameter. For this show, we launched ones 8" in diameter. So awesome. There's a picture of one of the bigger ones on top of the tube.

The last part of the fireworks show.

Wall o' fire.

Cool barrell rolls. You get some great "commentary" from the guy I was next to.

Kate seems tickled that she survived the slide. I'm so proud of her for being brave.

Yet another flyby.

Very entertaining post! Was all this at the same event, and what was it?

Also love Kate's little hops all the way back to yall after the slide!

Be careful, you could start the next regional conflict with one of those 8-inch mortars. Congratulations though, with Jennifer in the Huey, Kate on the aerial slide and you in the fireworks shed, it looks like your family is deep into alternative career possibilities: GI Jane, Barnum & Bailey and Redneck Pyro. In this economy, never hurts to keep your options open.

Great post! I love that Scott is working on developing his talents--- letting the inner-pyro out!

(P.S. Scott, sorry about the color of your avatar up top. Once someone has a baby or gets married, we will have to redo the whole thing anyways. Just hang in there until then.)

Clint, this was the Central Texas Air Show. There were many many more stunt planes and planes flying in tight formation. We also had a B2 stealth bomber come do a fly by from Missourri for the show. It's a yearly event. We'll let you know when it comes next year if you're interested.
