Kate's first experiences with solid food

I know I'm posting way too many highchair shots but they were just too good. You can see by the various hairbows or lack thereof that they weren't all taken on the same day. I also included a few random pictures at the end that showcase her fast-developing little personality.

What kind of parents try to introduce solids to their baby when she's tired? The result:
The next day she was still a little unsure.

What she needed was Daddy to show her how fun eating rice cereal can be!

She got the "open wide" technique down; the swallowing part took a little longer.

Fat and happy.

Apparently we got her feeling a little too adventurous about trying new things to eat. I love that despite the "ew, gross" look on her face, she still keeps gnawing on those toes.

Scott is trying to brainwash Kate with Canadian memorabilia. She does look suspiciously like Scott in this picture.

You never know what will fascinate her. She held this carrot out and inspected it carefully for about 10 minutes straight. I would have given anything to know what was going through her head. Maybe it bore too strict of a resemblance to a human finger?
