Kate and I love the quailty of music we get to listen when Jen's not teaching piano lessons (that's no reflection on the teacher of course). She held a recital for all of her students on Thursday and performed herself as well. I decided that because her pieces are all so difficult to maintain at her standard of performance, we ought to video tape all of them for posterity's sake. Here is our first performance video of "The Banjo" by L.M. Gottschalk.
Disclaimer: I feel a lot is lost in translation from real life to camera to computer editor to digital computer file, so keep that in mind. Also, I thought it would be fun to tape from different angles so if the song doesn't flow at times or the tempos are inconsistent, it's because I am cutting to a new scene and am not perfect with the movie editing equipment. If you listen closely, near the beginning of the video you can hear Kate say that Jen's playing is funny. That's why we don't take her to concerts yet.

The video I got was pretty broken up - maybe it's my computer - anyway, I enjoyed the piano piece.
We miss hearing you play, Jennifer.
How dare Kate say your playing is
funny! Love, Mom
I liked the many camera angles. It made it very fun to watch. Way to go Jen. I bet you blew the socks off your students.
No, Kate, definitely not funny. Someday you will understand when you see your daddy look away after listening to you play like that.
WOW!!!!!! That was so amazing. Jennifer, you are so talented. I have such an appreciation for people who contribute such great things to the world. I really enjoyed it. Scott, your editing work was good too. =)
awesome work you three. it's good to still hear you play jen.
who votes for some blog production from the rents and sibs?!
It is amazing that someone can move their hands around the piano that fast. I am trying to learn piano so I can play hymns for my children and I am SOO frustrated because my hands don't listen to my brain. That is why it amazes me so much to see hands do that. Anyway, you are awesome Jen...and the angles were fun Scott.
Wow, wow, wow! I could not be more impressed! Picture me with my eyes popping out of my head and my jaw dropped. That's what I looked like listening to your piano playing. You can play the hymns so good at church but this is so much more impressive. It's amazing how fast you can move your hands!
