From "Plumpy" to "Kate the Great"

Jen and I decided that the affectionate term of endearment "Plumpy" for Kate needs to be phased out and replaced by a more esteem-building name like "Kate the Great." Kids are more sensitive to weight issues at an earlier age than they used to be and we don't want to have the first self-conscious 2 year old with an eating disorder.

The women in my life today after church. All of a sudden the weather here is beautiful.

Kate's not exactly progressing with her utensil use like we'd hoped.

I'm a sucker for the little kid squat.

Family zoo trip on Friday after my last test of my 2nd year of school. Kate and I go to the zoo at least weekly while Jen teaches piano. Kate tries to get us excited about going to the zoo at least a few times per day - "rhinos! bears! giraffes! go go go!"

Small evidence of hair growth. We comfort her with stories of her aunt Laura whose hair woes are distant memory.

Wahoo for cute little piggies! Scott you are amazing for taking Kate to the zoo that often! You must have a family pass. :)

Plumpy is a cute little name, but I would agree, it's definitely one that would make her cringe to hear when she gets older! Mine was "Uncle Buck" during one of our camping trips because of my huge front teeth and missing side teeth. Oh...how I hated being called that...so degrading!

I'm glad you're having some great weather now. Ours just ended and we're up to the 100's now. Sheesh.

Sooo cute! The pic with Jennifer and Kate is now my new computer background. I love the pigtails, the toddler squats, and Kate's cheerful little personality. I guess you could say I'm a little partial to my bestest and only grandbaby! And, Scott, you are a great Dad for taking Kate to the zoo almost daily. Love, Mom (Marleen)

Kate the great is good, but I love Plumpy. My nick name was Cassie, Cassie, fat and sassy. :)

The picture on the lawn is lovely. It is now wallpaper on Mom's computer and mine, without talking to each other ahead of time (not that we ever talk to each other ahead of time -- that might make us organized, which would be very confusing).
